Travis Scott is coming off the release of his highly anticipated third studio album Astroworld and now we have its first week sales numbers.
Astroworld has made a massive impact moving 537,000 units (270,000 coming from traditional album sales) placing it in the number one spot on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. Travis has earned himself the second biggest release of 2018, following Drake’s Scorpion which accumulated an impressive 732,000 units in its first week.
This is Travis’ second chart-topping LP, previously accomplishing the feat with Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight, which totaled a comparatively underwhelming 88,000 copies.
Scott dropped a music video for “Stop Trying To Be God” last week and announced the first annual Astroworld Festival going down in Houston on November 17th. He will also be one of several performers at the upcoming MTV VMAs along with Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Post Malone, and more.
Mac Miller’s Swimming album debuts in position number three with 66,000 units (30,000 coming from traditional album sales), while YG earns the fifth spot with Stay Dangerous and its 56,000 units (12,000 from traditional album sales).
